Macro elements in mango trees: uptake and distribution.

Abstract : Pot experiments were conducted on 2-, 6- and 18-year-old trees of mango cv. Sensation to obtain a reliable seasonal pattern of the accumulation and distribution of N, P, K, Ca and Mg. The trees were supplemented with a complete nutrient medium at 4 mg per tree in 10 litres of water per application. The highest N, P, K, Ca and Mg contents were observed in the leaves of 6-year-old Sensation. N, P, K, Ca and Mg uptake were observed during spring, spring-summer, late-spring, summer and autumn, early spring and summer, and summer and autumn, respectively.
