Preliminary study on the control of larvae of Crimissa cruralis Stal with synthetic organic insecticides in the laboratory.

Abstract : In laboratory tests in Brazil on the control of Crimissa cruralis Stal, a pest of mango and cashew [Anacardium occidentale], larvae were confined for 16-72 h on leaves that had been dipped in emulsion concentrates. The best results (85-100% mortality) were afforded by 0.08% endrin, 0.024-0.12% naled (Dibrom), 0.08% aldrin, 0.06% diazinon and 0.3% chlordane. Toxaphene and malathion were somewhat less effective.
