Abstract : Fruit growth and levels of plant bioregulators, namely gibberellin-like substances and cytokinin-like substances, in fruits of mango cv. Khiew Sawoey, growing in Thailand, were studied. Samples were taken at 3 weeks after full bloom until harvest (12 weeks after full bloom). Fruit growth during weeks 1-4 was almost unnoticeable. After 4 weeks, fruits could be divided into 2 groups; big fruits (7 g) and small fruits (0.51 g), where most of the later group dropped in later weeks. Fruit abscission occurred during weeks 1-3 after full bloom, then decreased and was no longer observed in week 6. Concentrations of gibberellin-like substances and cytokinin-like substances were highest in week 5 (preceding increasing fruit growth); most of these substances were mainly found in seeds.
