Abstract : The present work was carried out in the main mango production region of Bahia State, Brazil, during the flowering season of 1998. The purpose of the study was to verify the incidence and severity of mango malformation (caused by Fusarium spp. and exacerbated by Eriophyes mangiferae [Aceria mangiferae]) of cultivar Tommy Atkins. About ten percent of the total area cultivated with mango trees was selected in the main counties of Bahia State. The results indicated that flower malformation amounted to 54% in Bahia State mango orchards, and that malformation severity was 17%.
