Abstract : A description is presented of phenotypic and genetic diversity of xanthomonads associated with Brazilian pepper (Schinus terebinthifolius) in Reunion Island, and mango from 14 countries. It is concluded that the occurrence of several xanthomonads associated with mango and the diversity existing within Xanthomonas pv. mangiferaeindicae [Xanthomonas campestris pv. mangiferaeindicae] should be considered for germplasm evaluation.
