Initial growth and yield of mangoes cv. Tommy Atkins on different rootstocks.

Abstract : Mangoes cv. Tommy Atkins were grafted onto rootstocks of cv. Coquinho, IAC-101, IAC-102, Carabao, Pico or Manga D'água. after 2-3 years, the Carabao rootstock had the smallest stem diameter, while Coquinho had the highest yield per plant, not differing significantly from IAC 101 in the first and second crops, or from Pico in the second crop. No differences could be detected in the mass, soluble solids or acidity of fruits among the rootstocks.
