Abstract : Chlorothalonil (Kavach 75 WP) was applied at 1.7 and 3.4 kg a.i./ha to mango in West Bengal, India, at the 50% stone formation stage in 1993. The dissipation of chlorothalonil was about 90-94% within 15 days after application, regardless of application rate. The half life value was calculated in the range of 3.81-4.56 days. No residue was found in samples of peel or pulp taken at harvest. The safe waiting period was 17.78 and 25.65 days for the 1.7 and 3.4 kg/ha application rates, respectively.
