Abstract : This thesis discusses land use concepts and presents three case studies which implement the concepts and methods presented in the earlier part of the study. The methods presented to describe land use at plot level optimize options to cluster, generalize and classify collected primary data. The three case studies make use of the discussed concepts to explore Comparative Performance Analysis (CPA). The CPA case studies address yield constraints to rice in Thailand, yield constraints to mango in Thailand, and soil erosion indicators for maize-based agroecosystems in Kenya.
