Abstract : The potential for expansion of cherimoya, mango and avocado in Malaga and Granada, Spain, is explored. Cherimoya is discussed, with particular reference to the introduction and evaluation of new autumn cultivars and production of cherimoya in spring. Rootstocks and cultivars, and methods of training are considered for avocado. The introduction of new avocado cultivars and the control of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata] by hot water or CO2 treatment are also mentioned briefly. Notes are given on the control of iron chlorosis, training and comparisons of cultivars of mango. Reference is also made to preliminary trials with litchi, carambola, yellow pitaya [Selenicereus megalanthus] and Pouteria sp.
