Abstract : In a trial at Coimbatore, 10-year-old trees of Alphonso mangoes were treated with 10 ml paclobutrazol/tree, 1% KNO3, 1% urea, 200 ppm Ethrel, 20 ppm NAA or 5000 ppm mepiquat chloride. Data are tabulated on ascorbic acid, carotene, total sugar and reducing sugar contents, TSS, acidity and sugar:acid ratio in harvested fruits. Applying 10 ml paclobutrazol had the greatest effect, increasing all the parameters except for acidity.
