Industrial pollutants mediated damage to mango (Mangifera indica) crop - a case study.

Abstract : Damage to a mango crop in the vicinity of an industrial complex of fertilizer, distillery and sugar factories near Lucknow, India, was assessed on the spot with a plant physiology meter followed by laboratory investigation. Visible symptoms of injury, decreased photosynthesis and stomatal conductance, and severe loss in quality and production of fruits were observed. The fluoride content was higher in leaves of trees nearest to the factories.
