Effects of low temperature preconditioning on membrane-lipid peroxidation during cold storage of mango fruits.

Abstract : The effects of low temperature preconditioning (15°C for 7 days) on the quality of mango cv. Zihua fruits, stored at 2°C, was investigated. Low temperature preconditioning increased the superoxide dismutase and catalase activities, delayed the increase in MDA content in mango peels, reduced the increase in membrane permeability and decreased membrane lipid peroxidation.
