Abstract : Four-year-old mango cv. Luzon trees were girdled once every 10 days from 25 September to 5 December [year not given] using different girdling widths in a field experiment conducted in Changjiang county, Hainan province, China. Flower bud differentiation was observed regularly. The girdling period which best promotes flower differentiation was 25 October to 15 November. The optimum girdling width was one-tenth to one-fifth of the diameter of the branches.
