Abstract : Fifty freshly harvested mature mango cv. Neelam fruits were dipped in carbendazim solutions of 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5% concentrations for different periods of time, i.e. 2, 5, 15 and 30 minutes. Postharvest dipping in 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5% carbendazim recorded initial concentration loads of 6.88-8.24, 10.72 to 12.32 and 13.46 to 14.72 ppm, respectively. Varied pattern of dissipation of residue was noticed in ripening fruits when stored in open trays at room temperature (28±2°C). The fruits analysed 15 days after postharvest treatment showed residue concentration of 1.64-2.25, 3.34-3.64 and 3.41-4.18 ppm at 0.1, 0.2 and 0.5% carbendazim, respectively. Accordingly, the half life of carbendazim residues was 17.3-18.9, 20.1-19.7 and 19.3-21.6, respectively.
