Abstract : This paper discusses the mango bacterial black spot, its effects on mango production, its economic importance, symptoms, causative agent (provisionally identified as Xanthomonas sp. pv. mangiferaindicae), method of detection, pathogen diversity, hosts of the pathogen, survival of the pathogen, disease transmission, and measures for controlling the disease such as integrated, cultural and chemical control and breeding resistant cultivars.
