Abstract : Information is provided on mango production in India, China, Mexico, Thailand, Philippines, Pakistan, Nigeria, Indonesia and Brazil, as well as areas planted with mango in 1999. Data (1990, 1994 and 1998) are presented on the volume sold by the main export countries (Mexico, Philippines, Brazil, India and the Netherlands) and the volume acquired by the main import countries (the USA, China, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates and France). Production in Brazil in 1998 is outlined. A price comparison is made for Minas Gerais and São Paulo in 1994-98. Prospects for mango production in Brazil are outlined.
