Abstract : Mango fruits were dipped in solutions of 2,4-D (40 p.p.m.), Cycocel [chlormequat] at 500 p.p.m., maleic hydrazide, 2,4,5-T or Alar [daminozide], each at 1000 p.p.m., for 5 min and held at room temperature (32-38 deg C) for up to 12 days. The rate of ripening, weight loss and spoilage were least with 2,4,5-T and 2,4-D. The chemical composition of the fruits was not affected by any of the treatments.
