Abstract : The sex ratio of 5 recently introduced exotic mango cultivars (Kensington, Philippine, Eldon, Cowasji Patel and E.C. 92862), and 2 indigenous cultivars, Dashehari and Amrapali, was studied under the conditions of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, during 1994-95. The total number of hermaphrodite and male flowers per panicle were highest (407.67 and 2070.33, respectively) in Kensington. Cowasji Patel had the lowest number of hermaphrodite flowers. Male flowers appeared for a longer period on Philippine and Cowasji Patel, compared to Dashehari. The percentage of hermaphrodite flowers exhibited more variation compared to male flowers.
