Abstract : The effects of etiolation and juvenility on rooting of mango cv. Kurukkan air layers were studied by using IBA 5000 ppm, in an experiment carried out in New Delhi, India [date not given]. Etiolated and non-etiolated, juvenile and non-juvenile shoots were compared. The juvenile shoots gave significantly higher percentages of rooting and survival, i.e. 65.60 and 71.13%, respectively, compared to non-juvenile shoots (52.58 and 52.84%, respectively). Etiolation had no significant effect on percentage rooting and survival. The numbers and lengths of primary and secondary roots were higher in juvenile than in non-juvenile shoots.
