Abstract : The fruit quality of 30- to 50-year-old or more than 50-year-old mango cv. Fazli under different pruning and fertilizer application treatments was investigated in West Bengal, India [date not given]. Pruning treatments included: heading back of the leader branch (P1); pruning the first order branches of the leader branch with the leader intact (P2); removal of first order branches surrounding the leader branch (P3); removal of first order branches and pruning of secondary branches (3-4 branches) (P4); and heading back of leader and pruning of primary branches (P5). Fertilizer treatments included: N, P and K at 1.0, 0.5 and 1.0 kg/ha combined with 3% urea (M1); and at 1.5, 0.75 and 1.5 kg/ha, respectively, combined with 3% urea (M2). The highest total soluble sugar content of fruit was highest with P2 and M1. Heading back of leader branch+M2 resulted in reduced fruit acidity.
