Abstract : Organic fruit growing can be an alternative to transform the area under coca culture. Agriculture in the area is briefly described, cropping systems with coca plants are analysed, and present economic, ecological and social aspects are discussed. Experiences, examples and problems of the organic cultivation of pineapples, mangoes, guavas and blackberries are presented, and the opportunities for sustainable fruit management are demonstrated.
