Abstract : Rotation system and fertilizer trials are reported on a wide range of vegetable species and varieties on peat and colluvial clay soils. An observation trial on jack bean (Canavalia ensiformis) is also reported. Work on tree crops included a citrus introduction trial; a fertilizer mulch trial on robusta coffee; coconut mother tree selection; and regional fertilizer trials on bananas, coffee, local oranges, coconuts, rambutans and mangoes.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:The results of interim and completed trials on aspects of fertilizer application, cutting treatments, variety trials and spacing trials in rice, forage (Napier grass in particular) and field crops (soyabeans, jackbeans [Canavalia ensiformis]) are reported.
