Abstract : This paper reports the status of the integrated fruit fly management in Guimaras Island, Philippines, using the male annihilation technique and the sterile insect technique (SIT). Furthermore, results are presented of the study conducted to established Guimaras as an Island free of Bactrocera philippinensis through the introduction of an integrated pest management based on SIT and to increase production and exportation of tropical fruits particularly mangoes.
