Abstract : The objective of this work was to gain knowledge concerning the species of Tephritidae and Lonchaeidae in Itumbiara region and their associated natural enemies. The frugivorous flies were collected using plastic recipients placed in mango, pitanga (Eugenia uniflora), guava and carambola orchards in Goias, Brazil, during 1998-99. Among the Tephritidae, the species Anastrepha fraterculus was the most abundant; and among the Lonchaeidae; it was the Neosilba sp. Among the parasitoids, Doryctobracon areolatus was the most common species. D. areolatus, Aganaspis pelleranoi and Pachycrepoideus vindemmiae had a parasitization percentage of 2.96%, 0.21% and 0.14%, respectively.
