Abstract : Climatic conditions at Bassin-Martin are such that grafted mango trees may flower from the 2nd year onwards, coming into bearing 3 or 4 years before seedlings. The 45 cvs under observation are dividied into 4 groups according to earliness and habit, and planting distances are recommended for each group. The highest density mentioned is 340 trees/ha, modified after 6 or 7 years to 170 trees/ha. The rootstock cv. generally used is Carotte.
