Abstract : Mature green fruits of 4 mango cvs were fumigated with EDB against Anastrepha suspensa at 0-24 mg/l for 2 h, after which they were held at 21.1 deg C for about 11 days followed by 12.8 deg for 3 weeks. EDB treatment did not affect fruit appearance or ripening time, neither did it increase the incidence of anthracnose [Glomerella cingulata] or Diplodia natalensis. EDB peel and pulp residues declined to zero during the holding period, and inorganic bromide pulp residues were 6 p.p.m. at all sampling times.
