Abstract : Fruits of mango cv. Zardalu were graded on the basis of size and weight. After five days of storage at room temperature ripe fruits accounted for about 36, 57 and 72 percent in A, B and C grades, respectively. All A and B grade fruits ripened after 9 days of storage. The spoilage loss amounted to 10.00, 12.00 and 22.00 percent in A, B and C grade fruits, respectively, after 9 days, but the losses were negligible on the seventh day of storage. Physiological loss in weight (PLW) was lowest in A grade fruits. A grade fruits had higher percent of TSS, vitamin C [ascorbic acid], total sugar and reducing sugar compared to B and C grade fruits. On the whole, A grade fruits ripened gradually, had higher size, better appearance and fruit quality than B and C grade.
