Abstract : An experiment was conducted in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, India to study the effect of pre-harvest sprays of some nutrients (CaCl2 and ZnSO4) and growth regulators (GA3 and Alar [daminozide]), alone and in combination with carbendazim on the quality of mango cv. Baneshan stored at 10-12°C. The fruits were sprayed 20 days before harvest with GA3 (15 ppm) and Alar (500 ppm); plant nutrients CaCl2 (1.5%) and ZnSO4 (0.2%), alone and in combination with carbendazim (0.05%) using Teepol (0.1%) as surfactant in the water solution. Fruits treated with GA3+carbendazim recorded delayed ripening of 22.33 days after harvest. Comparative data on the physicochemical changes of mango cv. Baneshan are tabulated.
