Integrated nutrient management in tropical and subtropical fruits.

Abstract : The manure and N:P:K requirements of some tropical and subtropical fruit crops are presented. The appropriate timing and method of fertilizer application to mango, banana, citrus, guava, grape, litchi [Litchi chinensis], pawpaw, pineapple, pomegranate, ber [Ziziphus mauritiana], sapota, and aonla [Phyllanthus emblica] is briefly discussed. The beneficial effects of nitrogen fixing bacteria (Azotobacter and Azospirillum) and vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza on some fruit crops are mentioned.
