A crop management system for mangoes in the Hoedspruit area.

Abstract : A study was conducted in Bavaria Estates, in Hoedspruit Area, South Africa to manage a mango orchard to produce optimum yield and good fruit quality. The economical viability of the approach used was calculated in a continuous basis. An OHS was installed in the beginning of the growing season and an irrigation/fertilizer application programme was maintained in a monthly basis. Different pruning treatments, as well as fulvic and humic acids were applied. Data collected included leaf, soil and water analyses, as well as yield data from the previous season.
