Abstract : Infested fruits such as mango, guava, passion fruit, muskmelon, plum (jujube), citrus (pummelo), banana, pear, and gourd were collected from orchards and markets. Some adult flies were also collected for identification. Collected fruits and vegetables were kept individually in separate jars to determine the fruit fly species when adults emerged from the soil. Four different fruit fly species were recorded from seven different hosts in Yezin area especially during the raining season. These are Bactrocera dorsalis, B. cucurbitae, Carpomyia vesuvina and Dacus sp. (species unknown). B. dorsalis infests mango, guava, banana and plum. B. cucurbitae was found in passion fruit and muskmelon. C. vesuvina was identified from plum. B. dorsalis is the most common pest in Yezin area and C. vesuvina infests only plum. An unknown species of Dacus was recorded from gourd and pummello.
