Abstract : Experiments were conducted on mango cultivars Zebda and Fagri-Kalan to determine the effects of culture medium, cultivar, explants, and phytohormones on in vitro regeneration. Stem node explants gave the best results compared with shoot tips. Shoot proliferation was highest with modified WPM culture media (20 g sucrose/litre) supplemented with 30 mg adenine+2 mg isopentenyladenine+0.5 mg IBA+L-glutamine+casein hydrolysate/litre or 30 mg adenine+0.2 or 0.5 mg IBA/litre. Sole supplementation of adenine at 40 mg/litre increased the percentage of shoot proliferation, while 30 mg adenine/litre increased the average shoot length of the proliferated shoots. Modified WPM medium supplemented with 30 mg adenine+1 mg benzyladenine+4 mg IAA/litre had the highest rooting percentage and average root number.
