Abstract : The efficacy of various dipping substances (plant-derived or fungicides) on anthracnose disease control in mango (cv. Chok-Anan) fruits from two different seasons, was investigated. Treatments comprised: crude extract of sweet flag (Acorus calamus) at 2500 ppm and fermented juice of sweet flag at 1:500 (v/v), and 250 ppm azoxystrobin and 500 ppm benomyl. In in-season mango fruits (March 2002) which showed a low disease severity, treatment with sweet flag crude extract resulted in a lower infection compared to treatment with azoxystrobin. In contrast, in ex-season mango fruits (June 2002) which exhibited a high disease severity, treatment with azoxystrobin showed a good result compared to both sweet flag crude extract or a sweet flag fermented juice.
