Relationships between parameters of fruit growth of mango cv. Haden.

Abstract : Fruit growth of mango (Mangifera indica) cv. Haden was studied in a commercial orchard in Petrolina, Pernambuco, Brazil. A typical sigmoid curve was observed for fruit growth. The relationships between fruit dry mass, fresh mass, volume and diameter were also studied. Fruit mass could be estimated from fruit volume. Mango fresh mass was affected by water deficit during fruit development, a common local practice to hasten fruit maturation and increase sugar content.
