Apical necrosis of Mangifera indica L. by Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae van Hall in Sicily.

Abstract : The typical symptoms of the apical necrosis were observed on mango plants cultivated in Sicily, Italy. Isolations from the infected organs gave rise to pure cultures of bacteria identified, based on the biochemical and nutritional characters, as strains of Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae. Representative strains inoculated on mango plants reproduced the field symptoms of the disease.
