Occurrence of entomopathogenic nematodes in Rajasthan.

Abstract : An extensive survey was undertaken in different localities of Rajasthan, India, for the occurrence of entomopathogenic nematodes during September 2001-August 2002. A total of 477 soil samples were collected from the rhizospheres of various crop in 14 districts. Out of 176 samples collected from Udaipur district, 3 samples from rose and 4 samples from maize yielded Steinernema sp. and Heterorhabditis sp., respectively. Out of the 27 samples from Jaipur districts, only one sample from mango showed the presence of Heterorhabditis sp. The nematodes were measured and the body dimensions were tabulated for identification up to the species level.
