Abstract : The study was carried out in Aurangabad district of Marathwada region, Maharashtra, India, in 1999-2000, to study mango farmers' knowledge and adoption of recommended cultivation practices for mangoes. 150 farmers having the highest area under mango cultivation were randomly selected and interviewed with the help of an interview schedule. It was reported that majority of the mango growers had medium knowledge and adoption level. The data further indicated that 97.33% of the mango growers have knowledge about storage of fruits under shade, grading and packing, irrigation management, selection of soil, and use of recommended varieties. None of the farmers had a high adoption level in the case of fertilizer use, plant protection and method of inducing regular bearing.
