Abstract : A survey on the biology and population dynamics of P. mattiana infesting mangoes was carried out in Minab and Syahoo, Iran. Overlapping generations due to alternate infestation resulting from alternate bearing of new flushes were observed. Three generations of the pest were observed in Syahoo, whereas 4 were observed in Minab during each year. The optimum temperature for the pest was 10-26°C. Damage by the pest on the crop was observed with the emergence of adult flies from infested leaves of the trees.
