Abstract : Sixteen chemicals were compared for their effectiveness against Loranthus spp. on several forest tree species and mango. The method of treatment comprised drilling a ring of holes, each 1 inch in diameter and pointing downwards and inwards, round the bole and/or low branches of the tree, and filling the holes with a chemical and replenishing them at frequent intervals. The best results were obtained with copper sulphate, either alone or with potassium permanganate.
