Abstract : Ninety-two mango cultivars were screened for resistance to the stone weevil, S. mangiferae in an experiment conducted in 1994-2001 in Maharashtra, India. Fruits were collected from infested trees and the stones were assessed for infestation after ripening. No infestation was found on cultivars Sindhu, Bombay Green, Firangi Ludua, Pulihora, Jahangir, Sabja, Salgadino, Hatizool, Dodamio and Fazri. Cultivars Koral, Vanraj, Cherukurasam, Batli, Gadhemar, Villakolumban, Chittur Badami and Badami were highly susceptible to the pest (41% infestation percentage).
