Management of termite infestation in mango orchard by cultural practices and organic amendments.

Abstract : The effects of irrigation at 1-, 2-, 3- and 6-month intervals in combination with hoeing, as well as the application of 2 kg neem cake, neem leaves and wood ash, and 5 kg farmyard manure (FYM) on the control of Odontotermes obesus infesting mango were determined in a field experiment conducted i Pantnagar, Uttar pradesh, India during 1998-99. The mean termite number was lowest with monthly irrigation + hoeing and application of 2 kg neem cake/tree.
