Abstract : Cv. Jinhuang was introduced to China from Taiwan. Trials proved it performed well in the Meizhou area, Guangdong province. The trees are precocious and start fruiting in the 3rd year after planting. The production of 3-year-old trees reached 3.59 t/hm2. Fruits mature in mid- to late July, are extra large, weighing 900 g on average, but reaching 1750 g. They have a soluble solids content of 15.5% and an edible rate of 75.7%. Trees were damaged by frost (-2.6°C) in December 1999. Tipping flower clusters is important to obtain high yield..
