Abstract : Thrips (Thysanoptera) are an important pest for mango trees, resulting in yield losses of 10-25%, and sometimes more than 42%. Flower buds, young fruits and young parts of leaf buds are easily damaged. Thrips gather in the inflorescence to suck the juice and cause the inflorescence to become black and wither. Brown or rust brown spots will also appear around fruit stalks. Dry weather and strong wind enhance crop damage. Control is possible by spraying 1500 times solution of 5% fipronil, 1000 times solution of 25% quinalphos emulsion, and 1000 times solution of 48% chlorpyrifos.
