Utilization of paclobutrazol, ethephon and potassium nitrate in the flowering induction of mango in the semi arid northeast.

Abstract : The effects of paclobutrazol (0, 1000 and 15000 mg/litre), potassium nitrate (3 and 4%) and ethephon (0, 0.50 and 1 ml/litre) the flower induction in mango cv. Tommy Atkins were determined in a field experiment conducted in Mossoro-Assu, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil in 1999. Paclobutrazol at 1500 mg/litre caused the highest reduction in the growth of the crop, whereas potassium nitrate and ethephon had no significant effects on the parameter measured.
