Abstract : This paper presents an up-to-date description of mango world production and trade mainly based on FAO statistics complemented with bibliographical surveys and a questionnaire concerning recent mango data, people and institutions in 9 out of 49 mango-producing countries in the world. Focus is given on the international trade (the Asian markets, the North American and the European Union markets), the market for transformed mango products (processed mango fruit, mango pulp, mango juice, mango chutney, mango puree, dried fruit, frozen, glazed, crystallized) and various preferred cultivars in different countries.
