Abstract : The fungus was isolated from all parts of bunchy top-affected seedlings, the panicle and panicle-bearing shoots of malformed inflorescences. It was systemically present in parenchyma of the pith region of malformed tissues. Typical bunchy top symptoms could be produced in mango seedlings by soil inoculation with F. oxysporum. Its importance in symptom production under natural conditions is discussed.
