Abstract : The effects of carbendazim, benomyl and thiophanate-methyl at 0.1% concentration on the postharvest changes and losses in mango cv. Beneshan fruits were investigated. The fruits were dipped in fungicide solutions and packed in bamboo baskets, deal wood boxes and ventilated, corrugated fibre board boxes (CFB). Fruits stored without packaging served as the control. Fruits were analysed for physiological and chemical changes after 0, 4, 8 and 12 days. Increasing storage duration increased physiological weight loss. The minimum weight loss was observed in CFB treatment (6.61%), while the maximum weight loss was obtained in the control (7.85%). Among fungicides, benomyl treatment showed the minimum weight loss (5.01%), followed by thiophanate-methyl and carbendazim. Benomyl and CFB treatments showed higher starch content and acidity, and lower total soluble solids and sugar content compared to the other treatments. Fruits from benomyl and CFB treatments also showed the lowest post-harvest spoilage percentage (5.93%).
