Abstract : The volatile compounds in mango cultivars Haden, Tommy Atkins and Keitt from Sao Paulo, Brazil were investigated. Monoterpene hydrocarbons were the most abundant in the headspace of fruits. The main volatile compound in Haden and Keitt was car-3-ene. The main components of Tommy Atkins were car-3-ene and ?-pinene. The other compounds detected were: ?-fenchene, ?-camphene, p-camphene, ?-mircene, ?-phyllandrene, limonene, ?-terpinolene, ?-caryophyllene and ?-humulene.
