Abstract : The resistance of 13 crops (litchi, longan and species of citrus fruits) to acid rain was studied by observing and measuring the damage degree of leaves, branch growth, cell membrane permeability and chlorophyll content. The results showed that under acid rain stress, branch growth was inhibited, cell membrane permeability increased and chlorophyll content decreased. Crop resistance was related with the pH value of acid rain. The highest resistance was shown by Mangifera indica, Eriobotrya japonica and Clausena lansium. The most sensitive ones were Actinidia chinensis [A. deliciosa], Prunus salicina, Prunus mume and Psidium guajava.
