Abstract : This review provides information on modified atmosphere packaging of fruits. The different types of plastic material used for fruit packaging, such as polyethylene, polypropylene bags and polyvinyl chloride, are described. The effect of plastic thickness on quality and storage life of fruits such as apple, banana, guava and mango is discussed.
